Laboratory/Orthotics
Once the assessment has been analysed and orthotics prescribed, a plaster cast is taken of the feet and an individual prescription written out. This takes into consideration foot type, body weight, age, activity level, arch contour, angles of correction, materials, ailments, sport, workplace and footwear.
We manufacture a variety of orthotics to suit all needs and shoe types. Runners' needs in footwear are very specific and we try to give 2 or 3 recommendations to suit their sport, style, foot type, surfaces, intensity, body weight and pace. Orthotics are only as good as the shoes.
The technicians are continually in touch with the Podiatrist and footwear consultant in relation to the final product and are provided with the details of the patient, so there is a feeling of connection with the person. This attention to detail has kept the Running Clinic at the forefront of prescription orthotic manufacture.
Full prescription orthotics range in cost from $199 - $365. Manufacturing time is only 3-5 working days. Emergencies even less.
